In 2004, SD Shields Ltd. principal Scott Shields built his first social network – a database-driven corporate intranet network for employees of a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company. Shortly thereafter, he was recruited to head up the digital operation for the 2006 US Senate campaign of Robert Menendez, recognized for its early adoption and successful use of Facebook and YouTube, both emerging platforms at the time.

After six years as a founding partner and Creative Director at the new media-focused political consulting firm White Horse Strategies, Shields left to focus on providing boutique media and creative services for a wider variety of clients in the public, non-profit, and private sectors.

Shields has been working professionally in graphic design for web and print since the nineties, in fields as diverse as sports and entertainment, political campaigns and non-profit organizations, consumer products and manufacturing.
